Plant Care

Endless Summer Collection of plants are chosen not only for their stunning looks and repeat blooming ability, but also for their great performance in a wide range of applications, settings and zones. Like any plant, however, it’s important to exercise proper care to ensure you get the most from your plant all summer long, year after year.

In The Ground

Dig a hole one and a half times wider than the container the plant came in.

Remove the plant from the container.

Roughen the sides and bottom of the root ball.

Center the plant in the hole, keeping the plant vertical.

Top of root ball should be level with the surrounding soil surface. This may require adding back some soil.

Fill in around the roots with soil, and then firmly tamp down.

Water your plant thoroughly. Refill with soil if necessary, then water again.

Add 2-3 inches of mulch around the base of the plant, keeping away from the plant stem.

Water as needed to maintain evenly moist soil.

In A Container

Hydrangeas can be used as decorative accents on the front porch or deck, and are a great way to add color, texture, beauty and life to your outdoor environment.

To make sure the root ball has room to grow, select a container that has a minimum. diameter of 15-16 inches and about 2-4 inches larger than the pot the original plant came in from the nursery.

Light colored containers help reflect heat away from the roots of your plants.

Make sure your container has adequate drainage holes..

Keep the soil mix evenly moist. The simplest technique is to water thoroughly (until the excess drains from the bottom of the pot).

Do not allow the soil mix to dry out or let the pot sit in water for an extended period of time (longer than 1 hour).
